I have learned the hard way that one should not open a bottle of wine (or two) when cleaning out your closets. I invited my fabulous cousin Brynne to come over for a night of wine and closet cleaning inspired by the book The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up.
At first, we followed the "rules". Category by category we looked at each item to decide which items still "brought joy" and which did not. We looked at all of the jeans and determined which would stay and which would go. Most went. I don't own any skinny jeans -- yet. Apparently those are very "in" right now. I never noticed. My bell bottoms seemed to work just fine :)
However, after that, mass chaos ensued. We just took it all down. By 1 am, we had finished two bottles of wine and 5 items were left in the closet as "keepers".
Lesson learned -- don't open up wine when you do this activity.
Luckily, Jim (my hubby) works out of town during the week so this pile of craziness might be either re-evaluated and put away neatly or given away by the time he returns.
